Ham Radio Adventure
I am planning a winter driving/camping trip to the cold northwest sometime January-May 2014.
This requires dependable long range communication where cell towers don't exist.
Nov. 8, 2013, from in front of my house, the engine off, I was able to communicate across the country
with Tom in Fall City, Washington, near Seattle.  We communicated for about 15 minutes as the band was
changing and stations from Europe begin to gain strength and I could lose his signal.
I do not drive and operate at the same time, therefore my antenna is not mounted
until I set up camp or stop for an extended  break.  The warm radio will be an asset for sure.
