Adventure Trip to Alaska and the Yukon Territory
A High Tech Camping Trip
Day 1- Page 2 Getting to the YT Border
Mid-October to Mid-November 2015
Operating Portable and Mobile as Ham
Radio Station N4ON on 20 meters ~14.165 MHz
Light snow started falling at daybreak Thursday as I
approached the border.
Waiting for the road crew to sand the highway, I spotted a camp
sight.
Camp sights are not had to find. They are everywhere.
You can also just pull off the road and you instantly have on.
Temperature was 32F. It felt great. The warmest
(dry)32F ever, unbelievable.
Me and my Hernia. A short rest, the road crew passed
by, and I got
back on the highway.
Treated with sand & gravel. Works here. Forget
that in Virginia.
At the Yukon Territory by morning.
